Examples Gone - File Description  

Well, this does (or at least should do) exactly what it says on the tin. That being, rids your Mod Menu of the two custom Example Mods.

Pretty basic, but no doubt useful. smile

Remove Example Mods

This is a mod for the game 'Supreme Commander'.

This mod disables and removes the following default example mods from the Mod Manager:
- Jeff's devtest mod
- Example balance mod

Once you know the game, there's no reason to keep the examples, right?
Besides, they cluttered the Mod Manager list, and I wanted them out of the way.
Hopefully someone else (you?) finds it usefull as well.

- Copy the file 'custom__Remove_Example_Mods.scd' into the 'gamedata' map.

- Delete the file 'custom__Remove_Example_Mods.scd' from the 'gamedata' map.

funnilly enough i was in my mod menu yesterday and was just thinkin how pointless it was having those mods. I know there examples of how to mod but to me personnally, they have no value....Thank you

I've made this mod some weeks ago, and I've uploaded it 3 times over a few weeks, because I didn't hear or see anything happen. And I've uploaded before, so I knew it shouldn't take that long. Even tried another Email address. So it might bounce around somewhere there... but those other emails should state that they're copies..

Hi you don't need mod to deal with this. Only think you need is to open mods.scd file in win rar and delete mods that are useless

I know you can change the mods.scd file, and remove the mods themselves. That's what I did first. But this way is much better, because the mod will still work when the game gets upgraded, and removing the mod is also easier. Otherwise you'd have to keep a copy of the original file, or reinstall the mod, and maybe even remake the mods.scd (as there might be new contents or such).

This way, because it doesn't touch the original files, and only references to the example mods themselves, it will most probably even work with (all) future versions of SupCom. Plus, removing is now easier, by just removing that custom mod, and not having to reset the original file back.
